The Championships will be held at the end of each season and swimmers compete at age as of first event of Championships.

Swimmers who were active members at the conclusion of the previous swimming season, AFTER BECOMING FINANICAL MEMBERS, must swim each stroke in which they wish to compete at least SIX times during the season with at least TWO swims being in one half of the season.  In the case of long distance events (i.e. 100 Free, 200 Free and 100 IM), these swimmers must swim in each event in which they wish to compete at least TWICE, this being ONE in each half of the season.

If a swimmer competes at 2 outside meets in Term 4 and Term 1 they will qualify for Club Championships by swimming 1 regular Club Night in Term 4 and 1 regular Club Night in Term 1.   The Management Committee can make an exception to these ruling in extraordinary circumstances.   New members to the Club during the first half of the swimming season will qualify for Championships on a pro rata basis.

Swimmers who register in the second half of the swimming season and are FINANICAL MEMBERS SIX WEEKS PRIOR to the date of the Championships must swim each stroke, in which they wish to compete at least THREE times, after becoming financial members, to be eligible to compete in the Championships.  For the long distance events, these swimmers must swim each event in which they wish to compete at least ONCE after becoming financial members.

If a swimmer is unavailable to swim in the heats due to illness, a doctor’s certificate must be presented.  In this case the best time from the last four swims will be taken as that swimmers heat time.  In the case of school commitments e.g. school camps, parents must notify the Club in writing that their child will be unavailable to swim in the heats.  In this case, the swimmer will be given the opportunity to swim a heat time the week prior to the heat being swum.  Finals must be swum.
